Today, it seems like artists are being found via YouTube videos that are lacking genuine talent but have a catchy tune and a corny dance to match! The signing of these artists says a lot about industry execs and the quality of music they are willing to support. J - Will has kept himself FAR away from this routine! 

New York native, Joewill Compas, is now looking to succeed where others have failed. Born and raised in Rockland, he had a different upbringing than you might expect from someone in the game. J - Will is here to bring the game back to where it used to be, when the artists had such great talent, their tracks would gives you chills! 

It all began when a friend took him to a karaoke bar where he stunned not only his friend but the entire audience. Always a fan of music, it was this occurrence at the age 19, that made J - Will begin to dig a little deeper. He started to listen to music with a new ear and watch videos with different eyes. Diving deep into the ornate story telling of artists like Usher and R. Kelly, J-Will turned on his creativity and got to work. 

Wanting to get his name out and voice heard, he quickly began looking for showcases in the area. He went on stage and mesmerized the audience at a showcase organized by The Elegant Hoodness Musical Program which was sponsored by AllHipHop.com. J-Will captured the crowd with his creativity, stage presence and voice to the point that when he went on stage to accept 2nd place, the crowd chanted the hook from his performed track, "K.Y. Jelly."

J-Will won 3 straight showcases which lead him to a a feature on VladTV! He also received love from Rocklands Jovonn down at NYs Power 105.1, when Jovonn played a track from 845s Wunda and J-Will on his NewNY show on Sundays at 10pm!
